I Wish Christmas Scrapbook

I've taught and made a few different scrapbooks using the Simply Scrappin' Kits from Stampin' Up! They are such terrific value and so versatile as you can make lots of scrapbook pages, dozens of cards, cover notebooks or do something like the below designed by Andrea Walford which uses just half a kit! I taught this at Christmas and am starting to do it again as some people are already thinking of getting organised for Christmas already! It makes a wonderful present in itself or a lovely record of Christmas for years to come.

It looks equally stunning with any of the Simply Scrappin kits depending upon the occassion e.g. a baby album or a wedding etc. What is also awesome is that it can be done as a complete class by mail and as there is no stamping required it just requires some time and patience which will definitely be rewarded as within 2 hours you have a simply stunning result!

The original design and beautiful layouts are the perfect place to preserve your family’s Christmas memories! In this class you will make a 6” x 6” mini scrapbook album created with Stampin’ Up!’s I Wish Simply Scrappin’ Kit. The album contains 11 pages, allowing you plenty of space for your pictures! The class kit includes all instruction and materials for just $35, so if you have 4 peole who want to do this give me a call and I'd be happy to schedule a class to suit you, or keep an eye out for classes later in the year as I will be teaching this from home again soon.

Of course you can just use the leftovers from the kit to make some gorgeous 12"x12" pages or 6"x6" pages like the one below that I did of my son's first Christmas - very cute and very fast to make!

Vintage Vogue Writing Compendium Class

The Vintage Vogue is another wonderful class adapted from the super talented Andrea Walford  this time the neutral colors of the Bella Bleu designer series paper combined with the Vintage Vogue, Best Yet, Butterfly Prints stamp sets give this card set a nostalgic feel that brings us back to the days when sending hand-written notes to our friends and loved ones was common. In this class you’ll create a card portfolio and 4 standard-sized cards. I've also been reading up on some tips on photographing my projects and although I don't think you can see the wonderful effect of the dazzling diamonds glitter in the centre of each flower. I think I've managed to improve the look of the projects even though I know I have a way to go yet. Don't you love the fabric in the background - left over sheer curtain fabric from my front window (if you ever need curtains or blinds in Perth give this friend a call - to say they are amazing is an understatment!)

Punched Circle Fox & Friends

Well since I have an almost 4yo I always seem to be in need of childrens cards & when I saw the Fox & Friends stamp set come out in the autumn/winter mini I knew it would get a LOT of use at our house! I saw some cards on a blog by Andrea B. and decided to modify one a bit and got the below result (can you tell I'm on a Kraft & Baja Breeze colour combo theme at the moment - I also had to use the Sanded background stamp which I just bought & I love it, can't wait to use it with my Totally Tools stamp set!):

You could change the sentiment or colours to make it for any occassion, but I wanted a young boys card - pretty cute hey! I added the details of the lions face, fox nose, & turtle eye with a black Stampin' write marker pen. To get the layered effect of the lions mane I stamped him twice in So Saffron & once in Pumpkin Pie and cut out the mane fromt eh later & the face from the former and just stuck them together - too easy, especially since I invested in some Stampin' Up! Paper Snips #103579, initially I did baulk at the price a little, but wow they are by far the best paper snips I've ever used & they are really sharp and have really fine points for cutting out details - it makes doing any cutting an absolute breeze now.

Stamps: Fox & Friends, On Your Birthday, Sanded

Inks: Old Olive, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip & Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: Whisper White, Kraft, Old Olive, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip & Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: 1 3/8” circle punch, 1 ¾” circle punch, Spiral punch, ¼” old olive grosgrain ribbon SNAIL, paper trimmer.

Share A Cup!

I love the new concept Stampin' Up! came out with of releasing single stamps instead of just whole sets as sometimes you just want that one stamp! Well as soon as I saw Share a Cup #119198 in the latest autumn/winter mini catalogue I knew I just HAD to have it -well as it turns out my lovely upline & friend Charmaine gave it to me for my birthday (how awesome is that!!!) so I just had to use it for her birthday card in return! Well being time anemic as per normal I used just one ink colour for the card and made a matching box in a bag to pop in some tea bags and chocolates (hence the choice of the tea cup stamp!). It’s called a box in a bag and takes about 10 minutes to make from start to finish – it took me longer fiddling with the bow to get it sit right than to make the entire box!

The baja breeze was punched out with the curly label punch as per normal and then I layered it onto the soft suede and cut around it to just leave a little boarder showing (don't look too close as my cutting isn't always straight!!!). The greeting was stamped and then I drew around the top part of it with the waste part of the curly label punch to give me a compact curly label to cut out - sounds fiddly but honestly it wasn't!

The box has stitching details with white gel pen added around the round tab punch with the eyelet in it & the scallop edge along the base (my photography isn't the best, but you get the idea!). The ribbon and cup stamped on the curly label punch matches the card.

Stamps: Share a Cup, On Your Birthday
Inks: Soft Suede
Cardstock: Very vanilla, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Bella Bleu designer series paper
Accessories: Curly label punch, Scallop edge punch, Round Tag Punch, Paper snips, Stampin sponge, soft suede polka dot grosgrain ribbon, crop-a-dile, jumbo antique brass eyelets, SNAIL, paper trimmer, white gel pen.

Crazy For Cupcakes challenge card

Just a quick post to share with you a card I made a few days ago for the ESAD Stampin' Up! Demonstrators site, week 16 challenge sketch. Basically they post a sketch as per below:

and then we take this sketch and design a card to fit the sketch layout. While I have been making a few cards with the Crazy For Cupcakes stamp set recently so as it was on the top of my stamp set pile, I used that (such a technical designer aren't !!) and came up with this simple card:

You can't tell from my very average photography, but the scallop oval piece is raised on Stampin' Dimensionals, the chocolate chip cardstock has a watermark on it of the party streamer in Versamark & the cupcake icing is all overlaid with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The oval scallop punch from the Spring 2009 mini catalogue is still available to order #114889 AUD$30.95.

Stamps: Crazy For Cupcakes
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Versamark, Pumpkin Pie
Papers: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Rose Red double-stitched grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, 2 way glue pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponges, SNAIL, Oval punch, Oval Scallop punch.

Hope you are enjoying the Foundation Day holiday today :)
